Michelle A. Matthews

Associate

Michelle practices in the areas of civil litigation and business litigation involving contractual claims and business torts, including claims of fraud, misrepresentation, and breach of fiduciary duty. She represents individuals and entities, as both plaintiffs and defendants, in business disputes arising out of contractual relationships. Michelle advises clients on the enforceability of restrictive covenants, including covenants not to compete, non-solicitation agreements, and confidentiality agreements under South Carolina law and other jurisdictions throughout the United States. With a focus on resolving disputes, Michelle drafts and negotiates settlement agreements, releases, and other transactional documents.

Michelle graduated from the College of Charleston in 2008 with a B.A. in Philosophy and remained in Charleston to attend law school. While at the Charleston School of Law, Michelle spent much of her time as a volunteer Guardian ad Litem in Charleston County, earning her special recognition at graduation for her dedication to pro bono work.
